How to
Install an addon in Forever
- Close the game. Download the addon from its official GitHub release or a trusted addon site.
- Unzip it. You should get one folder named after the addon, containing a
.tocfile. - Open your World of Warcraft folder and go to
_forever_/Interface/AddOns. CreateInterface/AddOnsif it is missing. - Move the addon folder into
AddOns. The folder with the.tocmust sit directly inside, not nested one level deeper. - Start Forever, open the Addons button on the character select screen and enable it.
Check an addon's TOC yourself
Open the addon's .toc in a text editor. If a line reads ## Interface: 16001 (or lists 16001 among several numbers), or if the folder contains a _Camelot.toc or _Forever.toc, it targets Forever. If it only lists Classic Era or Mainline numbers, expect an out-of-date warning or no load. A fan install guide is at Mobalytics.

Do addons work in WoW Forever?＋
Yes, Forever supports addons, but only those whose TOC file lists interface 16001 or ships a _Camelot.toc or _Forever.toc load in the Forever client. Six well-known ones were confirmed on 2026-11-05.
Does Deadly Boss Mods work in WoW Forever?＋
We could not confirm it. We read the repository's root TOCs and found no 16001 or Camelot entry. BigWigs is confirmed and is the boss-timer addon we recommend for now.
Does WeakAuras work in WoW Forever?＋
Not confirmed. The root TOCs we read had no 16001 or Camelot flag. We will update this page when the authors ship Forever support or we find one.
Where do I put addons?＋
In the _forever_/Interface/AddOns folder inside your World of Warcraft install directory, one folder per addon. The step-by-step list above has the whole procedure.
Why does my addon show as out of date?＋
Its TOC file lists a different interface number than the client expects. The game wants 16001. Updating the addon to a Forever build is the right fix; forcing the version only suppresses the warning and can break features.
Why does this list have only six addons?＋
We only list what we verified in the code on a given date. Everything else is labelled not confirmed, with the reason. Absence from the confirmed list is not proof an addon fails.
