Which races can you play in WoW Forever?
Ten: four Alliance races, four Horde races and the new Skyborne, who can be played on either faction, with six race and class combinations that Classic Era never had.
- Alliance: Human, Dwarf, Night Elf, Gnome
- Horde: Orc, Undead, Tauren, Troll
- Skyborne: both factions, start on Zephras Isle (1 to 12)
- No Blood Elf or Draenei

New race
Skyborne: High Order and Windshaper
The Skyborne are high-elf exiles and the only new playable race. One race, two faces: High Order Skyborne join the Alliance and Windshaper Skyborne join the Horde. Both start on Zephras Isle, an island starting zone covering levels 1 to 12.
Classes: High Order can be Hunter, Rogue, Warrior, Mage or Druid; Windshaper can be Hunter, Rogue, Shaman, Warrior or Druid. Neither can be Priest, Paladin or Warlock. After Zephras Isle, where the Skyborne go to continue leveling is Unconfirmed; our Alliance and Horde routes flag it.

Forever reworked racials to four per race, two active and two passive, per the community wiki. We have not verified the individual abilities against the client yet, so we do not list them: Racial list unverified. Use the wiki in the meantime and pick on faction, starting zone and class fit first.
FAQ
What races are in WoW Forever?＋
Ten: Human, Dwarf, Night Elf and Gnome for the Alliance, Orc, Undead, Tauren and Troll for the Horde, plus the new Skyborne, who can be played on either side. Blood Elf, Draenei and other later-expansion races are not playable.
Which race and class combinations are new?＋
Six: Human Hunter, Dwarf Shaman, Gnome Priest, Orc Mage, Undead Paladin and Troll Warlock. They come from the game client's CharBaseInfo table in build 1.60.1.70790 and did not exist in Classic Era.
Who are the Skyborne?＋
A new race of high-elf exiles with a Zephras Isle starting area covering levels 1 to 12. Alliance Skyborne are called High Order and Horde Skyborne are Windshapers. The matrix above shows which classes each can be.
Can I be a Tauren Paladin or Night Elf Mage?＋
Not in the client data we read: Tauren have Warrior, Hunter, Shaman and Druid, and Night Elf has Warrior, Hunter, Rogue, Priest and Druid. The matrix is built straight from the table, so check there before rolling.
What are the Forever racials?＋
Blizzard reworked racials to four per race, two active and two passive, according to the wiki. We have not verified individual racial effects, so we list none. See the wiki page for the current set.
Do I need to buy something to play Skyborne?＋
We could not confirm this. The optional Skyborne Heroic and Epic packs exist, but Blizzard's page does not tell us whether the race itself is locked behind them. Check the character-creation screen.
